Former Ammerland runner DALIKA Gr.3 runner-up at Churchill Downs

Former Ammerländer DALIKA made her annual debut yesterday in the €193,350 Gr.3 Old Forester Mint Julep Stakes at the Churchill Downs Turf in Louiseville, Kentucky, after her team had given her an eight-month layoff. The six-year-old Pastorius daughter presented herself in a top shape under Ricardo Santana, Jr. and was only beaten in a tough finish where she stubbornly defended the lead until a few lengths to the post. Trainer Albert Stall was full of praise for DALIKA, attesting her a more than satisfactory comeback that should have prepared her well for the better races in the second half of the year.
