Group win for LOPE DE VEGA by HALFDAY in Prix Cléopâtre

Carlos Laffon Parias-trained HALFDAY won her first start as a three-year-old at Saint-Cloud today and made a big impression on the way. The LOPE DE VEGA-daughter, who races in the Wertheim colours, was found at the back of the field for a long time in the 2,100 metres Prix Cléopâtre and seemed to have a hard time on the difficult track. But when Maxim Guyon asked more of the filly entering the last turn, she kept on gaining ground and drew clear by two and a half lengths with a great final run. HALFDAY is nominated for this year's French Fillies Derby and may well have recommended herself with this performance.
